Chayki – restaurant of designer Azeri cuisine. It’s a cozy, dacha-like atmosphere in the very heart of the city, large green garden and the menu which combines national traditions and modern designer approach.
The restaurant is located by the seaside, at a picturesque Baku boulevard. The interiors are all about the atmosphere of a spacious country house with a cozy environment and comfortable designer furniture. Caspian Sea is visible from the windows – and you can enjoy the view both from a scenic green terrace and from the inner halls with their classic design.
The restaurant’s kitchen is run by Chef Bakhtiyar Aliev, who is a renowned internationally not only for being a true specialist in Caucasus cuisine, but also as an innovator with a unique vision applied to traditional food. The menu is based on famous Azeri recipes from different parts of the country, but in the brand-Chef’s interpretation. You will find traditional charcoaled Sadj, tandoori-baked lamb ribs, several types of dolma and many other dishes. Bakhtiyar also recommends trying his designer version of sturgeon Buglama or one of five types of breakfast from Azerbaijan’s regions, each having its own unique combination of flavors.
Chayka’s concept is built on using only local ingredients – some of which can only be found in Azerbaijan. The restaurant has the most modern kitchen equipment, but traditional tandoori ovens located right at the terrace deserve special attention. Fresh hot bread is baked right in front of the restaurant’s guests.
Sommelier Anatoly Khodakovsky has gathered interested bottles from all over the world into the Wine List, paying particular attention to Azeri wines, which complement local cuisine excellently.
Chayki is another spot on the list of Ginza Project’s international projects. It is Ginza’s second restaurant in Baku – the city which has earned a special place in the company’s international development strategy.
