Mamalyga bar
About the restaurant
Wakh! MamaLyga bar has got drinks with Caucasian flavor and hospitable Georgian cuisine in Petrograd side district. The name of soup of the day is written on a chalkboard, a canary is singing in a cage, soft carpet is on the floor, apricot pie is on a display case — fashionable, stylish and youthful place. You will see how a flavourful Georgian coffee will be brewed, or craft lager, or a glass of famous Saperavi wine will be poured in front of your eyes. If you’re looking for new wave drinks, try trendy orange wine or Georgian style cocktails, based on vodka and adjika or gin, pomegranate and dates. For healthier option try homemade quince drink or organic water with sparkling wine flavour.
To spice things up, our favourite Caucasian food is served in MamaLyga bar, provided by Izo Dzandzava, an expert in Georgian cuisine. The dishes are served quickly and the pricing is reasonable: salad with tomatoes, sheep milk cheese and fried crispy djondjoli, baked pepper with nadugi and gebzhaliya sauce, pretty adjapsandal, khashlama with mutton, juicy pork barbecue, slightly smoked on apple peel and Adjarian boat-shaped khachapuri that you simply can’t resist. On an open display at the bar you will see homemade pies with rhubarb or raspberry, available for take away. A cosy summer terrace is surrounded by green plants. Laughter, jokes, holiday spirit — all this is MamaLyga bar on Bolshoy Prospect of Petrograd Side.
